the costs of online degree programs
Price will also be a consideration when choosing an online program. Many people assume that an online program will have a substantially higher cost for online degree programs. Although this is sometimes a correct assumption, it does not hold true for all schools and programs

In-State vs. Out-of-State

If a quality traditional university in your state offers a degree program entirely online, this will probably be your most cost effective option. You will receive the in-state tuition price, and you may be able to qualify for state scholarships and other special considerations. For traditional universities in other states, you will be required to pay the out-of-state tuition fee that can double or triple your cost.

Online Schools vs. Traditional Schools

Completely online schools generally have a higher tuition cost than traditional in-state tuition prices. If your state has an online school unconnected with a traditional university, you will likely receive the lowest possible price from this school due to lower faculty and building costs. However, other online schools have prices running closer to those of out-of-state online programs.

The only way to learn the true price of your potential schools is to contact those schools and their admission officers. You should also consider checking scholarship websites to find scholarships and/or grants for which you are eligible. Scholarships and grants can greatly reduce your costs for tuition, books, and other expenses.
